NAVARATRI FESTIVAL AT KOLLURU MOOKAMBIKE TEMPLE -LIVE COVERAGE
Akashvani Mangalore broadcast two days live coverage of Navaratri Utsava held at Kolluru Mookambike Temple on 21st and 22nd October 2015. The live coverage was organised by the Kolluru Mookambika Temple Committe. The Mookambika devi temple at Kolluru, Udupi District in the State of Karnataka. Maha Navarathri celebrations start on October 13 and end on october 22. On 13th October, the Kalasa sthapane pooja is held. This ritual followed by Shatarudrabhisheka, and some other Poojas.
As per ancient Scriptures and inscriptions, along with other proofs found in the locality. It is clear that the Kollur Mookambika Temple has been an abode of Devi Shakthi's worship for centuries. In an anicient inscrption found here, the source of the Shakthi has been described. Shree Mookambika Devi in the form of Linga is the Adi Shakthi, the creator and the protector of all forms of life.
Navarathri begins with Mahalaya Amavasye and this year falls on 21st and 22nd October 2015. Navarathri festival at Kolluru Mookambika temple is considered as most auspicious time to prayers to goddess Shakthi and its other forms. Millions of piligrims visit the temple on these nine days in South India. It is a belief that Vijaydashami is an auspicious days for small children to start their education called "Vidhyaramba". hence piligriims throng the temple from 4 am onwards for Vidhyarambha.
The Utsava Idol of the temple is taken out for pradakshina around the temple. Purnakumbhabhishekha is also performed. Mahadeeparadhana dnd suhasini Puja are forformed daily during Navarathri nine days. Akashvani Mangalore broadcast live programme on 21st ie. Wednesday, Chandika Yaga and at night Rathotsava in Mithunalagna. Morethan 50000 devotees are eye witnessed this great occassion. They came from Kerala and Tamilanadu. On 22nd ie. Thursday on Vijaya Dhashami "Vidyarambha and Navanna Prashana"(new rice and sweet eating) During Vidyarambha, the symbol of "OM" is written on the tongue of Children, aged between 2 and 5 years with a twig of turmeric. Saraswati Mandir has a great significance in which Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankarachrya composed. All the Devotees are took prasadam of Goddess Sri Mookambika and blessed by her.
A famous Film Director and Music Director Shivamani, Singer Sangeetha Balchandra and classical dance are performed here. Akashvani interviewed devotees, Basavaraj Patil Yetnal, Shivamai's interviews are broadcast live with by playing interlude songs, interviews, slogans, manthra etc., All the above incidents relayed by Mangalaore.
