‘JHAROKHA’ at Radio Kashmir, Jammu












Radio Kashmir, Jammu and Jammu and Kashmir Academy of art, Culture and Languages jointly felicitated Dr. Om Goswami , renowned writer of Dogri and Hindi Languages in a function in K.L Saigal Hall, Jammu under its regular series of interaction and felicitation programme ‘JHAROKHA’.Sh. Gianeshwar Sharma, a prominent Dogri Writer and poet presided whereas Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Sh. V.K.Sambyal, Station Director, Radio Kashmir, Jammu and Dr. Om Goswami were also present in the presidium. Delivering welcome address Sh. V.K.Sambyal , Director , Radio Kashmir, Jammu said that Radio Kashmir, Jammu and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages has been doing this programme for the last one and half year which is receiving overwhelming response and JKAACL and RKJ have decided to come up with more new programmes in near future also . 

Born of September 11, 1947 in Jammu, Dr. Om Goswami attained his post graduation in Hindi and awarded Ph. D in Dogri from University of Jammu. He is considered to be an Icon of Dogri and Hindi Languages and recipient of a number of Best book awards from the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and a national award for his short story book “Sunne Di Chiri” in 1986. He is still contributing in both Hindi and Dogri literature in almost all fields of literature. Dr Om Goswami, former Additional Secretary, JKAACL jointed J&K Cultural Academy and edited Sheeraza Hindi and also served as chief editor in the dictionary project of Dogri language. Delivering his presidential address, Sh. Gianeshwar Sharma appreciated the efforts of JKAACL and RKJ and said that Jharokha series attainted its new heights and popularity because of its mission of honouring the regional heros in the field of art, culture and literature. He complimented the contribution of Dr Om Goswami and said that he has produced literature in Dogri and Hindi languages and succeeded to introduce Dogri at national level and also to the literature of main stream.Sh. Gian Singh a renowned Dogri writer presented paper on the life and works of Dr. Om Goswami . Sh. Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri in the Academy readout Citation on the occasion.

Dr. Om Goswami also spoke on the occasion. In his speech, he highlighted some important moments of his life followed by discussion and interaction. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu whereas Smt. Anjana Badyal , Programme Executive, Radio Kashmir, Jammu conducting the proceedings of the programme Among prominent were : Sh. N.D. Jamwal, Mohan Singh, Shiv Dev Singh Susheel , Sita Ram Sapolia Dr. Kamal Sharma, Smt. Sudesh, Sunil Sharma, Mrs Santosh Sangra, Shakunt Deepmala, S Inder Singh, KK Shakir, Dr Kamal Sharma, Narinder Bhasin, S MS Kamra, Mrs Nirmal Kamal, Raj Kumar Behrupia, Shiv Dev Singh Sushil, Sh L D Shastri.
