PGF COIMBATORE & MADURAI CREATED WORLD RECORD 24 HOURS NONSTOP RECORDING







PODHIGAI Doordarshan’s (Tamil) regional PGF’s Coimbatore and Madurai are officially declared “WORLD  RECORD  HOLDERS” yes, "100 YEARS 24 HOURS” a Marathon, Nonstop, Seamless, without break recording of a musical show done by PGF Coimbatore and PGF Madurai. This show was held to commemorate the memorable achievements filled 100 years of Tamil cinema and its music. The journey for which started in 1916 with a film “KEECHAKA VATHAM” directed by Shri Nataraja Mudaliar.

The event was organised at VPMM college campus at Srivilliputhur, Tamil Nadu on 28/5/16 from evening 4 pm to 29/5/16  4 pm. 24 hours is the official recording time as first of its kind by Doordarshan. PATAHNJALI BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS officials and judges monitored the event 24 hours continuously and honoured the crew members of PGF Coimbatore & Madurai are the official title holders of PATHANJALI BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS for the achievement of 24 hours nonstop continuous recording of a musical show. 

The event was inaugurated by veteran Tamil film actor Shri DELHI GANESH, Chairman of VPMM group of institution for women Shri SHANKAR, Smt Andal Priyadarshini, Head of office PGF Coimbatore and Madurai. The show was performed by orchestra “MADURAI RHYTHM” and “UDHAYA NILA” with its 40 instrumentalist and 60 singers of 12 years old to 50 years old continuously with same zeal for 24 hours.The event was enjoyed by students of VPMM College and public. 

While approaching the 24th hour, the tempo of the show increased with its beats and the final countdown was completed with burst of joy of everyone in the auditorium.The valedictory function was honoured by Veteran Tamil actress VENNIRA ADAI NIRMALA; she spoke about the journey Tamil cinema and its music. 

As we are finally confirmed by title of “world record holders by PATHANJALI BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS” the show came to an end with pride and joy.“100 YEARS 24 HOURS" is privileged event for Doordarshan for its world record and a salute to Tamil Cinema and its music.
