Dr.V.S.Deepkumar, DDAR, Audience Research Wing AIR Bengaluru retires on 31.07.2016

Dr.V.S.Deepkumar, DDAR, A star of Great Brightness in the Audience Research Wing of All India Radio, The most extraordinary person, a scholar of Anthropology, a Philosopher and a very good Gentleman of deep intellectual joined AIR in June 1992 as Audience Research Officer in All India Radio, Dharwad, simple by appearance, his voice soft, there is always a smile which overarched his words. There was not the slightest sign of pride or authority in his bearing. Though he looks soft and tender like a flower, he showed by his work that he could be hard as diamond too. He produced more than 100 Audience Research survey report conducted across the country and his work has seen in a Profile of Akashvani : Karnataka ( A profile of 13 AIR Stations of Karnataka State). Concern and Compassion is his admiral character, Integrity and impartiality is his adorable temper. He never aspired to power and never worked for it. And yet power and authority came in search of him. Fame set a crown on his head. Most of his survey reports are award winning. He has set a great example to everyone at work. You are our role model by the ways of your team work, diligence, efficiency and friendliness.

Sir, Remember the time when I first joined the company? I am like a wide-eyed child in a big unknown world. If you were not there I don’t think I will make it. You guided me through and taught me the ropes. We have our share of failures and triumphs, of fun and laughter, of hard-work and team work. I could not imagine going to the office and see your desk empty. It makes me sad for I will not see you as often anymore, but ! I will never forget all the things you have taught me whether at work or in life. You are one of the reasons I have fun working. ! happy that you have finally achieved your well-deserved retirement. I wish you all the best in your new adventure ahead. Happy retirement Sir. We wish and hope that we get opportunity to serve with you in coming days too.

  2. Tholeti Chandra Shekhar and All India Radio, Visakhapatnam join to wish Dr.V.S.Deepkumar, Deputy Director, Audience Research Wing, All India Radio, Bengaluru on his attaining superannuation and retirement. It is imperative to highlight the requirement of Audience Research in a broadcasting organisation like All India Radio. The data collected painfully, subjectively, with dedication and educating the listeners the role of All India Radio in the society is USP of an ARO. I can understand very well the tensions, hardship, treacherous journeys and tabulating of the collected data in required formate, which are the basic tenets of a research unit. The blog has given a very good background of you Sir, which we too would appreciate full heartedly. The research goes on even after an active government service. The ups and only ups in your life be your research subject and data in your retired life.
