AIR AJMER bags Best Maintained Station Award ( NZ) – AAA 2014
HPT AIR Ajmer won best maintained station award – 2014 in north zone. Credit goes to the technical team of Ajmer headed by shri K. K. Mathur, DDG-E. Its 3rd time, AIR Ajmer won the best maintained station award. First – in 1999 – the station was headed by late shri M. C. Aggarwal sb the one of the finest and most vibrant officers of our department ever had. Second – in 2009 – the station was headed by shri O. K. Sharma sb the one of the most dynamic officer of our department.
Initially, AIR Ajmer was commissioned with 20KW XTR on 11-12-1955. It was up graded to 2x100 KW -HMB -140, on 31-03-1987. Now it is running with 200KW, MW, DRM, NARA57A, NX 200 type transmitter. It is a Primary Channel Relay HPT station having studio at AIR Jaipur. It is also playing a significant role in revenue generation by the AIR Jaipur because it covers about 18 districts of Rajasthan - fully or partially, more than 260 lakh Population of Rajasthan and covers about 1, 60, 000 sq. Km area.
