Shri Abdur Rahman Sheikh, acting E-in-C, AIR is retiring on superannuation on 30.04.2017. AR Sheikh is an IBES officer of 1984 batch. He also worked in the zonal offices at Calcutta and Guwahati in various capacities-- DDE, DE/DDGE & ADGE, where he was involved in both project and maintenance activities. In the second spell of posting in DG AIR from May 2012 to January 2015, Shri Sheikh worked as ADGE MR and ADGE D. From January 2015 to 9th December 2016, he worked in Calcutta zonal office as ADGE project and from February 2016 onward also as ADGE maintenance.

Prasar Bharati Parivar extends it's choicest best wishes to Shri Abdur Rahman Sheikh for peaceful and contended retired life.

And that's what he says today - My feeling today is that as if I have joined this department few months ago; but in the process, I have completed more 30 years of service here. I am going to retire this month. Today my engineering colleagues of AIR, DD, NZ, NABM, R&D arranged a farewell lunch in Akashvani Bhawan. I became so emotional that I couldn't express myself and broke down. It is very difficult for me to imagine a life outside All India Radio. But I must have to learn the hard reality of life and cope up with it; the show must carry on. I love all of you my colleagues, my friends, my seniors. With sincere love to all of you
