Puppetry Art-Interview Prog broadcast by AIR FM Dharmapuri
The Indian Puppetry Art is 4000 years old. Putli Nach as it is called in North whereas in Tamil Nadu it is named as Bommalattam. This art is almost vanishing. The exponents could be numbered now. In order to preserve ancient arts and to give an impetus AIR FM Dharmapuri a small Local Radio Station has ventured out to bring back the past glorious art and inform and involve the present generation in its' weekly programme Thagadoor Thagaval (Information from Thagadoor (Ancient name for Dharmapuri) an interactive Live programme from 9am to 10am was broadcast on 12/04/2017.Modern Puppetry Artiste Smt.Kerlin Ebi of Salem was the exponent explained various nuances in puppetry art form and her experiences in conducting shows in villages be her mobile puppetry theatre.
Smt.Kerlin Ebi was honoured and the live programme was anchored by Shri.R.Murali Programme Executive.
