The broadcasting sector will benefit the most according to the union minister Venkaiah Naidu.

Naidu, in his address to a gathering at the inauguration of a two-day seminar organised by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on its fruition of two decades, said that “Broadcasting sector in India is as at the threshold of entering into a new era of digital broadcasting”.The minister also emphasised that the expansion of the broadcasting sector will open numerous opportunities to use advanced technological innovations to enhance the reach of media along with enhancing the quality of the reach. The following growth will also serve as the revival of radio, the digitisation of cable and a growth in the audience of free-to-air DTH audience according to the minister.

The minister further said that the inclination of the government towards Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) has surfaced at a critical juncture as the public broadcaster Doordarshan is planning to expand its DTT footprint from the current 16 cities to 44 more.
