Obituary - Ram Niwas, PEX (Sports), DG:AIR New Delhi expires


Ram Niwas, PEX (in-situ) posted in Sports Cell, Directorate General, All India Radio, New Delhi expired on 21.12.2015 in a road accident in Delhi.

Ram Niwas, s/o Lakhi Ram was born on 04.06.1959 in village Pandwalan Khurd near Najafgarh, Delhi. He served in the Indian Air Force before joining All India Radio. 

Ram Niwas joined AIR, Rewa on 11.1.1996 as a Transmission Executive. He was posted to AIR, Churu in the same year and was later transferred to AIR, Rohtak in 1999 in the same capacity. He joined Sports Cell, DG: AIR in 2003 where he shouldered the responsibility of planning various National and International events like the Commonwealth Games and National Games including the coverage of the National Games held in Kerala in 2015. He was recently promoted as Programme Executive (in-situ).

His pleasing personality and helpful nature made him popular among colleagues and many admired his practical wisdom and spiritually-inclined approach to life.

He is survived by his wife, daughter, son-in-law and grandchild.

May his soul rest in peace.

  3. Very shocking and unbelievable that Shri.Ram Niwasji is no more. This sad news is just not sinking in. I just got to know Ram Niwas Sir during the National Games held in Kerala in the month of February this year. To be precise I have met him for only 15 days. Later on we used to be in touch through various posting in Facebook. He was hardworking and was dedicated to his work. May his soul rest in peace and God give enough strength to his family members and friends to overcome this sudden loss.
